— Renée DeLuca Dolan

CLEVELAND, OHIO, UNITED STATES, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The 2018 Female Entrepreneur Summit brought together nearly 300 Northeast Ohio women entrepreneurs and business leaders for a day of learning, inspiration and networking. Now in it’s 7th year, the summit allowed attendees to engage with successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, dynamic speakers and experts who shared resources, opportunities and personal testimonials. Additionally, the new FES Investment Fund to benefit Northeast Ohio female entrepreneurs was announced to the group.

Held at the 700 Beta Drive Conference Center in Mayfield Village, the Female Entrepreneur Summit kicked off with keynote speaker, Eleanor Beaton, an acclaimed women’s leadership development expert and host of the podcast “Fierce Feminine Leadership,” who not only inspired, but equipped the audience with tips and tactics about how to think like the top 2% of female entrepreneurs.

Throughout the day, attendees listened to more than 20 successful entrepreneurs offer practical insights, honest advice and proven tactics designed to help their companies grow and thrive. Highlights included breakout sessions, a lunchtime panel discussion and wine tasting with three female winemakers/entrepreneurs, various networking opportunities, a Sponsor Showcase and a drawing for valuable door prizes.

FES Investment Fund Launched: Another highlight of the day included a major announcement from Renée DeLuca Dolan, whose company, Contempo Design + Communications founded and hosts the annual summit. DeLuca Dolan officially launched the newly created FES Investment Fund, specifically created by women to support female entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio, which she described as an underserved population without easy access to funding.

“Women are at a disadvantage for getting credit and funds from traditional forms,” said DeLuca Dolan. “I wanted to start a fund to support female entrepreneurs – one which allows us to assist other women with a scalable business model.”

“Data shows that women entrepreneurs get more funding when the investors are also women. That’s why it is so exciting to see these investors stepping up,” said Anne Richie, Venture Partner at JumpStart Inc., a Cleveland-based non-profit venture development organization advising DeLuca Dolan on the creation of the fund.

“It is also important to note that this fund will provide flexible debt capital with an ability to convert to equity. This type of flexibility is essential for business owners with ambitious growth plans but limited access to capital,” said Richie.

The current investment team is comprised of DeLuca Dolan, graduate of Cohort 13, Cleveland, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program; Amy Jenyk, Cohort 17, Cleveland; Donna Heffernan, Cohort 13, Cleveland; and Dr. Venessa Walker, DC, Cohort 8, Miami, Fla. The fund requires a minimum $5,000 investment from each investor.

DeLuca Dolan noted that the fund will be awarded to one or more companies selected by the investors through a Shark Tank-style pitch event, the date of which will be announced soon. To learn more about the FES Investment Fund, please visit www.contempocleveland.com/fes.

About Contempo Design + Communications: Since its inception in 1996, DeLuca Dolan’s Contempo Design + Communications has helped Northeast Ohio businesses and organizations reach their marketing and branding objectives through the creation of memorable logos and identification materials, dynamic websites, interior spaces and experiences. The company serves as the official design partner of the Cleveland Indians.

About the Female Entrepreneurs Summit: Now in its seventh year, Contempo’s FES is regarded as Cleveland’s signature event for female business leaders to connect, learn and grow. This year’s event took place on October 24 at Beta Conference Center and was emceed by WKYC reporter Monica Robins. The summit featured more than 20 successful industry professionals, including keynote speaker Eleanor Beaton. Beaton is a women’s leadership expert and host of the podcast, “Fierce Feminine Leadership.” The summit also included breakout sessions, a lunchtime panel discussion and wine tasting with three female winemakers/entrepreneurs, networking opportunities at a Sponsor Showcase and a drawing for valuable door prizes.

Dr. Nader Javadi of Hope Health Center Returns to CUTV News Radio

CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — For advanced cancer patients, there is only the standard therapies or clinical trials.

Precision Oncology is the “the third option.”

Dr. Nader Javadi, MD is an oncologist and medical director of the Hope Health Center, an independent, private oncological clinic that specializes in Precision Oncology: the customization of cancer therapy based on an individual's specific genetic markers.

“We have seen miracles.”

Inspired by his mother's death from ovarian cancer while still an intern, Dr. Javadi has dedicated his professional medical career to fighting cancer. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Javadi has gained expertise in several facets of oncology and hematology including genetic testing, and advanced oncology treatment. Dr. Javadi has practiced oncology for 18 years, with a great success rate in treating advanced terminal cancer patients, improving their quality of lives and survival.

“From day one, I saw that there were things we can do with technology to provide better results for the patient, but we are not using them,” says Dr. Javadi. “That's why I established the Hope Health Center, to be a patient advocate rather than an institutional advocate.

“I don't claim I can cure cancer at the advanced stage–nobody can–but there's only one best option to improve the quality of life and survival, and that's the precision medicine, customized therapy.”

“Even if you cannot get rid of the disease, perhaps we can control it to make it a chronic disease the patient can live with and not die from,” says Dr. Javadi. “The most important thing for me is quality of life. The first thing you want to accomplish is to remove the pain or ease it, so the patient can have a better quality of life. If we can do that, we can improve survival, too.”

With the current standard of therapy, there is still a 5-30 percent chance a cancer put in remission may return in the future and present itself as stage IV. Precision medicine is a systemic therapy to prevent the cancer from coming back anywhere in the body.

“What we did for a patient five years ago, we couldn't wait five years to do it,” says Dr. Javadi. “What we do is provide those protocols to give that survival benefit to our patients. Although we were not able to cure them, we did something that future trials proved to be right. If we keep improving, I think this is going to be the standard in the future. If we give the best treatment based on precision oncology, we have a chance to cure the disease forever. That's my intention.”

Standard of care is limited. A regular insured patient is generally not able to afford this treatment. That's why Dr. Javadi has established the Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization designed to fundraise specifically for patients in need who cannot afford precision medicine.

And soon, Hope Health Center will be an international clinic: Dr. Javadi has formed a joint venture with investors from China to build a precision oncology department in many of China’s major cancer hospitals.

“There are huge hospitals dedicated to cancer in China, with 3,000 beds each. We don't have that scale in this country. Our hope is to establish a precision oncology department in these hospitals to teach, train, and apply precision medicine,” says Dr. Javadi. “We are, to my knowledge, the only private oncology clinic in the world doing a joint venture at this scale. It's going to be a huge project and I cannot do it alone. We’re hoping to expand this model around the world to the Middle East and Europe.”

CUTV News Radio will feature Dr. Nader Javadi in a four-part series with Doug Llewelyn on November 2nd, November 9th and November 16th at 2pm ET and with Jim Masters on November 23rd at 2pm ET.

Debra Soul Returns to CUTV News Radio

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — When you find yourself in the offices of an energy healer, it’s often because you’ve tried everything else. It requires a leap of faith for the healer as well as the healed, the faith that you can feel better again.

Let the angels take the wheel. Debra Soul has put her faith in angels for over 20 years to deliver a unique form of energy healing. Soul is a holistic master angel healer and the founder of Heal By Soul, where she draws on the power of source and angels to clear your physical, emotional and karmic imbalance.

“You may perceive angel as anything you want to be. It’s more about the intensity of your intention,” says Soul. “You have to be open to it or it’s not going to work. You have to take that leap of faith to believe that you can get better.”

In session, Soul uses the Heal By Soul modality, which she developed. This is where the client begins to learn about their mission and what’s been preventing them from stepping into their power. With the protection of light and love, Soul invites her angels to connect with your angels to work together.

“We come to this world to learn our lessons, but most people don’t understand they even have a mission. They are lost. They are stuck. They have no intention. With Heal By Soul I connect your past soul with your soul on this earth to complete your soul and remember the blueprint that you came into this life with.”

Soul has recently written a book of her experiences, also titled Heal By Soul. In the book, Soul shares her story and teaches readers how they can change their life simply through changing their awareness.

“The whole book was angel-guided. In fact, it was like taking dictation from the angels,” says Soul. “I am blessed to work with the angelic realm. The angels transformed my life and helped me step into the power. What the angels have given to me I want to give to people so there can be more healing throughout the world.”

Social Entrepreneur Launches on Amazon Elevating Women's Confidence

And Helps Women Twice.

Over the past 10 years coaching hundreds of women, one key question emerges: how can I be confident? This book provides women with powerful language alternatives for more confident conversations.”

— author Yvonne E.L. Silver, Founder of Flourish!

CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Social Entrepreneur Elevates Women's Confidence – And Helps Women Twice.

"Words, Women & Wisdom: The Modern Art of Confident Conversations" is a new book by Canadian (Calgary, Alberta) author Yvonne E.L. Silver, for women who want to elevate their voices, increase their confidence and success in life and business. The book (with introductory video) launches globally on Amazon today, and is available for purchase at https://amzn.to/2DcolyC

This inspirational book includes forty words and word concepts, to help women rediscover their inner confidence and take a stand at home and at work by using powerful language — in modern ways. In many countries globally, especially in Canada, women are still earning less than men. According to Catalyst, Women in Canada earned 83.1% of what men earn on average, based on the weekly wages of full-time workers (2017). MACLEAN'S reported if you add up the earnings of all working women, that sum is about 31% less than the combined earnings of all working men.

When women feel confident, they speak up, negotiate salaries and secure promotions based on their accomplishments and future advancement potential – shared author Yvonne E.L. Silver, Founder of Flourish! (She is also the founder of Women & Wisdom Media.) In the past 25 years, she has interviewed over six thousand people and coached hundreds of women, and heard one question over and over again – how can I be more confident? As a social enterprise, for every book purchased a copy will also be donated to a women’s shelter, not-for-profit or foundation – helping those women who especially need an extra focus to help build up their confidence. Printing costs are kindly sponsored by Calgary's Supreme Printing Ltd.

A Book Launch Celebration is scheduled (in Calgary) for Friday evening on November 2nd, 2018 (www.WordsWomenAndWisdom.com/news). The book (with introductory video) launches on Amazon today, and is available for purchase globally, at https://amzn.to/2DcolyC

Author Yvonne E.L. Silver is a seasoned businesswoman and social entrepreneur who teaches women to flourish in business through her speaking, coaching, mentorship programs, and her writing. Optimum launches, Bad Blood The Unspeakable Truth

Front Cover of the Book

Judge Krever delivered a scathing indictment of Government Blood oversight

Now an 8 Part CBC Docudrama

The Crown sent a lot of good foot soldiers, but the defence sent generals.”

— —Mike McCarthy Hepatitis C Victims Committee

TORONTO, ON, CANADA, November 1, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Available December 5 Instore Indigo/Chapters

$24.95 Trade Paperback

Since the 1995 publication of Bad Blood, The Tragedy of the Canadian Tainted BloodScandal much has changed in the Canadian blood collection and distribution system.

Despite this, many of the issues that arose in the 1980s resulting from
contamination of the blood supply with HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) still
haunt the governments, agencies and consumers of blood products and
donors.

Many of these changes were driven by the $15 million report prepared
under the direction of Justice Horace Krever whose commission
conducted a detailed examination of Canada’s blood system in the
1990s. For example, the Red Cross is now out of the blood system
replaced by Canadian Blood Services and Hema-Quebec, stand-alone
agencies whose only responsibility is collection and distribution of blood
and its products.

The reissuance of an updated version of Bad Blood comes at a time
when an eight-part mini-series, Unspeakable, is being prepared for TV
distribution. The series, based in part on Bad Blood and on the personal
experience of executive producer Robert C. Cooper, who was infected
with HCV through blood products, is expected to air in early 2019. It is
being funded by CBC and Sundance TV.

We took our country’s blood supply for granted
— safe, available, life-saving.

We did so at our peril. We now know that more than a thousand Canadians who had transfusions in the late 1970s and 1980s—hemophiliacs, surgery patients, accident victims, women and their babies in childbirth—were infected with HIV. More than 70 percent have since died of AIDS. Thousands more were infected with preventable hepatitis and have truggled with cirrhosis and even liver cancer.

Hemophiliacs were the proverbial canaries in the coal mine—an early warning sign that there was something terribly wrong with the Canadian blood supply. Yet officials denied there were issues at all, and in fact covered up clear evidence that they had failed to take sometimes simple actions that would have saved countless lives. We cannot allow the agencies that protect our health care system to look the other way or put budgets before patients.

Twenty-five years later—thanks largely to Justice Krever and his exhaustive public inquiry—much has changed, but this story should still serve as a stark reminder that citizens deserve better from the people who are paid to serve and protect the patients in our health care system.

"In this timeless book, Vic Parsons brings to life many tragic tales of
the people affected by HIV and hepatitis C infections from a blood
supply that was their lifeline. He also recounts their quest for
justice and compensation from a government that wanted to deny
culpability. It’s a compelling read for all."

—DEAN BAXENDALE, PUBLISHER

The story of Canada’s worst medical catastrophe

Controversy still rages over the for-profit collection of
blood by certain corporations. This collection has been banned in
Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, but is permitted in Saskatchewan.
Survivors from the 1980s recall that the collection of imported for-profit
products from the United States, notably from prisons, was a major
factor in the infection of Canada’s blood supply. Supporters of for-profit
collections argue that Canada does not collect enough blood through its
voluntary donation system and imported products are necessary to
meet demand.

The update of Bad Blood, and the mini-series Unspeakable, are timely
reminders to the public of the past tragedies and cautionary tales for
the future.

"The story of Canada’s worst medical catastrophe must not be
forgotten. Vic Parsons’s new and updated edition of his 1993 book
should be required reading for people responsible for managing
our health system."
