Skip Drish Tampa’s 3 Reasons to Enroll Your Kids in Horseback Riding Lessons

Skip Drish of Tampa

TAMPA, FL, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — In this digital age, many kids find entertainment indoors more often than out, and getting kids engaged in physical activities can be a challenge. But one of the best ways to motivate many children and teens is with the help of an animal friend. Horse-riding, in particular, can be beneficial to kids of all ages. Skip Drish of Tampa, FL, an avid horseback rider, explains three reasons to consider enrolling your child in an equestrian program.

1. Boost physical health.
Although horses do most of the “work” in equestrian sporting events, from racing to rodeos, horseback riding also requires physical awareness and effort on the part of the rider. An isometric exercise, riding requires the rider to utilize the core muscles and inner thighs and pelvic muscles to maintain balance and stay upright in the saddle. Practicing this long-term can improve posture and spinal health as well as muscle tone. Advanced riders build even more strength from using the leg muscles to coordinate with the horse during complex or fast riding sessions.

2. Improve mental health.
Skip Drish noted mental health is of equal importance to physical health, and horse riding is a great way to reduce stress* and boost confidence. Research* indicates, in addition to reducing the stress hormone cortisol, riding a horse can also improve learning, memory, and problem-solving abilities, which could drive kids’ success in the classroom and beyond. Interacting with animals, including horses*, has also been shown to have emotional benefits and reduce anxiety and depression.

3. Cultivate character.
In 2006, the American Youth Horse Council sponsored a study that found participating in consistent horse riding activities can contribute to character development and life skills acquisition in kids and teens. One of the study’s co-authors, Ann Swinker, Ph.D., a professor of Animal Science at Penn State University said, “Handling, riding, and caring for a horse or pony can develop a host of positive traits in a child, including responsibility, accountability, patience, level-headedness, empathy, kindness, and self-discipline.”

Luke Zakka Explains 3 Benefits of Cloud Computing for Business

Luke Zakka of Greenwich

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Technology is integral to modern business. Whether you run a start-up or small firm or a Fortune 500 company, you and your staff likely rely on tech solutions for various tasks throughout the day. As technology becomes more integrated into daily life, a solution is needed to enhance and streamline security and storage. That solution is the cloud. The cloud consists of several services and functions, and its particular applications depend on your needs and the provider you work with. Whatever iteration of the cloud you use, there’s no doubt it can be a tremendous boon to your business. Luke Zakka, a Greenwich resident and DevOps Consultant at Amazon Web Services, works to help businesses increase agility, automation, security, and efficiency while reducing complexity and costs. He does this in part through moving companies to the cloud.

Throughout the years, he has witnessed firsthand the benefits of cloud computing for businesses of all sizes. Here are three of the most significant.

3 Reasons to Use the Cloud for Business

1) Cut Costs
Traditional servers can be expensive. The equipment can be costly up-front, plus it requires personnel and power to stay running. Cloud-based computing and web-based applications, on the other hand, involve storing data off-site. This means there’s little up-front cost, as you don’t need to purchase new equipment. Furthermore, your cloud provider likely has unlimited storage capacity, providing you with the option to pay only for what you use.

2) Boost Security & Performance
Data on the cloud is stored at a server farm managed by personnel who closely monitor the health and performance of all hardware and software, ensuring all is secure and running smoothly. Also, if your office computer malfunctions, data that would typically be lost will still be safe on the cloud. Most cloud service providers offer automatic software updates and round-the-clock security monitoring as well.

3) Flexibility
With an increasing number of businesses and entrepreneurs embracing remote work, being able to access data remotely is a huge plus. With cloud computing, you can securely access data from just about anywhere in the world. This is fantastic for collaborations between people at different locations as well.

Stuart Hankin of Hankin Homes Produces Houses For The Future With Its Multi-Generational Five Bedroom Floor Plans

Stuart Hankin of Hankin Homes

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hankin Homes is a real estate company in Florida that values family and home life.

Stuart Hankin has always wanted to construct mindful homes. His determination is why he graduated from Cornell University. Stuart earned his Bachelor's Degree in Operations and Information Engineering.

Today, Stuart Hankin, the owner of Hankin Homes, travels across the US buying properties. Stuart Hankin’s mission is to create money-saving opportunities for families and communities.

Hankin Homes produces houses that are cost-effective, modern, and practical for all.

People treasure the moments they spend with grandparents, children, and grandchildren. This is what makes up a multi-generational family.

Stuart Hankin recognizes the benefits of incorporating more extensive floor plans. He was then able to build the "homes of the future."

Every family, no matter their background, status, or generation, has the right to live in a home; and to do so comfortably.

Stuart Hankin's goal is to support cost-effective housing for all families. With this in mind, Hankin Homes builds multi-generational houses with five-bedroom floor plans.

Hankin Homes offers families more significant places to live and the opportunity to unite. Families can also choose to combine their finances to conserve money.

Each generation can be a contributor. Family members can put funds towards a house where everyone can live – Including great-grandparents, parents, children, and great-grandchildren.

Space no longer needs to be an issue, either. Multi-generations do not have to live in separate houses or together in cramped ones.

Stuart Hankin of Hankin Homes is all about bringing family members and generations together.

The company's "homes of the future," can also be passed down from one generation to the next. These new homes turn houses into a real long-term investment.

Let the time spent with family be an everyday occurrence. Stop leaving these moments to only be once a year or a holiday experience.

With Hankin Homes, grandparents can watch grandchildren grow up right before their eyes. They can spend time making memories and sharing stories about the past.

Now, families can work together towards building a happy future for every generation.

Eliot Pargament Provides a Simple Technique for Maintaining Good General Health of Your Horse

Eliot Pargament Arkansas

WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — This article is by Eliot Pargament, a Certified Farrier who works in the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware areas. Eliot received his training at the Tucson School of Horseshoeing in Arizona and at Kentucky Horseshoeing School.

Eliot Pargament may be contacted by phone at 703-727-5281 or email mingusman14@gmail.com

It is important for horse owners to regularly maintain their horses’ hooves by picking up their hooves after each ride and cleaning as much debris and dirt from each hoof. This involves picking up each hoof and scraping them off to remove debris.

This technique is most important for horses that spend much time in damp areas, where dirt and debris accumulate much faster than it does with horses that spend most of their time in very dry climates. Performing routine maintenance has two distinct advantages:

It helps to prevent issues such as hoof fungal infections, which can radiate and cause other health issues.
It is easier and more efficient for a farrier to work on a horse that is used to regularly having its legs picked up and maintained by the owner. Often horses that do not receive regular hoof maintenance are more problematic when farriers trim hooves and shoe the horse.

Many people wonder how American Indians used to get by without ever shoeing their horses. The simple answer is that the average life span of these horses was not as long as horses who receive regular hoof maintenance.

Following this simple technique can result in a horse leading a more healthy and productive life. Remember the saying “no hoof no horse”. Please contact Eliot Pargament for your Farrier needs.

3 Reasons to Enroll Your Child in Boy Scouts According to Patrick Swindale

Patrick Swindale

LAKEWOOD, WA, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — For over a century, the Boy Scouts has been an integral part of many young men’s lives. More than an extracurricular activity or hobby, it can be a life-changing experience that impacts kids and teens well after their Scouting days have passed. From Cub Scouts to Eagle, boys become men as they progress through the ranks, and many graduate with a hearty sense of self-confidence and civic duty. Patrick Swindale is one exemplary example of the positive impact the Boy Scouts can have on a young man’s personal growth and character development. Here, he explains three reasons to consider enrolling your child in Scouts.

3 Benefits of Boy Scouts

Develops Good Citizens
The Boy Scouts are a community-oriented organization with faith-based principles. Many of the lessons boys learn, Patrick Swindale explained, are aimed at making them good citizens of their community and the world. This includes teaching participants how to make ethical decisions and to behave respectfully toward other people and the earth. Community service projects are a key part of the Boy Scouts experience and participants often take part in various events, from volunteering at soup kitchens to picking up litter.

Life Skills
The Boy Scouts also provide an array of life skills Scouts can use well after they’ve earned their final patches. This includes basic outdoor skills, such as how to pitch a tent, start a campfire, and fish, as well as first aid. Scouts also learn the importance of independence as well as teamwork and how to get along with others. In addition, they’ll develop leadership skills and confidence.

Goal Orientation
Scouts earn patches and badges through achieving certain goals, whether it’s learning a new skill or completing a project. The same principle is applied to how children progress through the ranks from Cub to Eagle. These processes help Scouts learn to set and achieve goals. Boys also learn how to overcome challenges on the way to success. This is another skill they can use for life.

More on Patrick Swindale

Patrick Swindale works full-time as an engineer at HMS Global Maritime, Inc. and maintains a 4.0 grade-point average at the Loeb School for International Business at Maine Maritime Academy where he is studying for his Masters of Science in International Logistics Management. When Patrick Swindale is not at work or in class, he spends time with his family and takes his autistic brother, of whom he is a legal guardian, to the gym or hiking five days a week.

An Eagle Scout and former assistant Scoutmaster, Patrick Swindale is community-minded and spends his remaining hours giving back. He assists with his old Scout group and local charity efforts and has participated in St. John Bosco Youth Group and Knights of Columbus and is a regular speaker at his church. In college, he was also involved in Kappa Sigma and Alpha Phi Sigma.

“I carry myself with passion for whatever job I'm committed to,” Patrick Swindale said.

Fourth Annual Love and Help Children Awards Banquet awards dozens for Outstanding Achievements

On December 21st, The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay held their 4th Annual Love and Help Children Awards Banquet, recognizing the outstanding achievements of local youth in 2019.

On December 21st, The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay held their 4th Annual Love and Help Children Awards Banquet, recognizing the outstanding achievements of local youth in 2019.

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Over 360 children, families, educators and community leaders joined The Way to Happiness (TWTH) Association Tampa Bay, in the Fort Harrison auditorium, for the 4th Annual Love and Help Children Awards banquet to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of children and those using The Way to Happiness to improve their communities. The Way to Happiness, authored by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard in 1981, is a nonreligious moral code based wholly on common sense.

Evangelist Sonji Rhanes, from Jacksonville, Florida, was awarded the “2019 Love and Help Children Award” for her dedication to helping children in her community using the precepts in The Way to Happiness for 11 years. She saw that the 21 precepts fit right in with her dream to make her community and neighborhood safe.

She was able to teach common sense biblical principles in a fun way. Sonji Rhanes told the audience. “My husband and I started a group and every week we would work with children and we would teach Bible studies utilizing The Way to Happiness.” Immediately she saw “changes in the children and in their attitude toward life,” using the TWTH’s moral code.

“The parents would come around thanking me as their kids are now helping out around the house. … So my dream of making a better community is truly becoming a reality.”

After awarding dozens of children for their outstanding achievements, two more children were announced as the King and Queen of The Way to Happiness of 2019, for their exemplary application of the 21 precepts.

To close the event, Tanja Cranton, Executive Director of TWTH Association Tampa Bay, encouraged awardees to continue to practice and increase their skills and become truly professional at what they do. She said “Continue to set a good example. In this way, you not only help yourself but you help others survive better and lead happier lives.”

The event culminated with a live performance by the Flag Band for all guests to celebrate.
__________

The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay:

The Way to Happiness book was written and published by L. Ron Hubbard in 1981 as a nonreligious, common-sense guide to better living. Its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to humankind. It is available in 112 languages, with some 115 million copies distributed in 186 nations. The campaign to distribute the book has been embraced by more than 257,000 groups and individuals and millions around the world have received the materials free of charge thanks to the continued sponsorship of the Church of Scientology. The Way to Happiness holds the Guinness World Record as the single most-translated nonreligious book and fills the moral vacuum in an increasingly materialistic society.

Organizational Psychologist and Master of Resilience Dr. Madelyn Blair to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

JEFFERSON, MARYLAND, UNITED STATES, December 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Madelyn Blair is a woman with a PhD and long history of accomplishments including a consulting business offering advisory services to help businesses/their leaders perform at their best. She is also known for her abilities as a storyteller, infusing valuable lessons with humor and personal experience. This makes Dr. Blair very relatable–as a speaker, workshop facilitator and author too. Her writings have included several books –the latest Unlocked came out in October—and she is a regularly-featured blogger for Psychology Today online.

Perhaps more than anything else, Dr. Blair is recognized for her focus on resilience. Just what is resilience? It’s the ability to react gracefully and decisively to a situation that is unexpected, deeply complex or brings uncertainty. Dr. Blair readily shares advice and tools with top businesses to help them become more resilient as an organization, as well as develop resilience in employees at every level. She also often speaks on the topics of authenticity and information overload, and the way these can either foster or limit success.

In her latest book, Unlocked: Discover How to Embrace the Unexpected, Dr. Blair discusses what it feels like to deal with ambiguity and uncomfortable situations. She offers tips on how to have more confidence in tough circumstances and be more innovative. She colorfully relates the real-life stories of people who found power in resilience, overcame challenges, reinvented their lives and discovered their greatest success.

Dr. Blair began her education in Mathematics and has held many top-level positions in organizations such as the World Bank, and she did so at a time when women lacked positions at the top, and many didn’t have a career at all. She is a naturally curious person and kept on expanding her mind and education. She got her MBA and now has a PhD in Sociology, with a concentration in Organizational Psychology–a discipline that applies psychological theory and principles to workplaces, business decisions and the well-being of employees. Dr. Blair uses her experience, full complement of skills and resilience training to help organizations and their leaders deal with disruptive events and market/career transitions, and to achieve greater productivity, profitability and success.
.
In this part of her Women Making a Difference in America series Dr. Blair is going to examine life instances when resilience is demanded most—such as when dealing with new technological frontiers. No-one, she says, could have predicted the impact the iPhone would have on our work and daily lives, or that Artificial Intelligence might soon make one’s career obsolete. As she shares her knowledge, techniques, and stories, we will all make a connection, and find a reason to be inspired.

CUTV News Will feature Madelyn Blair PhD in interviews every Monday at noon—with Jim Masters on December 30th and January 13th, and with Doug Llewelyn on January 6th and 20th
