Central to any goal is the purpose of why you want to achieve that goal in the first place. It is possible to take that purpose and, step by step, achieve your goals.”

— Glendy Goodsell, Exec Dir, Scientology Volunteer Ministers Florida

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — A December 2020 survey by Finder.com found that more than half of all adults in America make New Year’s resolutions, but per a study by Forbes Magazine, on average, only 8% will see their resolutions through. The pandemic has thrown a wrench into the plans of even the most die-hard resolution keepers.

“2020 was a challenging year for everyone,” said Glendy Goodsell, the Executive Director of the Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Florida. “We were looking at 2020 being the start of a fresh new decade and as it unfolded, it became harder and harder to predict where we would be.”

It is in light of these challenges that Ms. Goodsell encourages those who want to see their resolutions to take advantage of the Targets and Goals course, which is available for free on line at www.volunteerministers.org.

The course utilizes discoveries in the field of strategic planning, developed by Scientology Founder and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.

“Central to any goal is the purpose of why you want to achieve that goal in the first place,” said Ms. Goodsell. “It is possible to take that purpose and, step by step, achieve your goals.”

“The goal I set myself as one of my practicals is something I have been thinking about doing for months, yet had made no effort to get going and do something about it,” said one student. “Now, not only do I have a strategy to complete this project, but very detailed targets to use in order to realize my idea. I now look to the future waiting for challenges to arise with the knowledge that these will not be negative things but opportunities to use good strategy and planning in order to achieve success!”

“Targets and Goals” is just one of the nineteen subjects covered in the Scientology Handbook, the basic textbook for the Volunteer Ministers training program. Other subjects include: The Cause of Supression, The Basics of Organization and The Technology of Study. Free on-line training in these subjects is also available via the group’s website at www.volunteerministers.org.

Keynon Lake of My Daddy Taught Me That to be Featured on Close Up Radio

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — So many of today’s youth are faced with the challenges of absent fathers, increased incarceration numbers, and high education dropout rates.

It’s time we make a stand and make a change. With community support the lives of our youth can be permanently changed for the greater good.

Keynon Lake is the CEO and founder of My Daddy Taught Me That, is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to teaching young men in the underserved communities of Asheville how to transition from adolescence to manhood, by focusing on good decision making, accepting responsibility, and being accountable for their actions.

“My Daddy Taught Me That is a program for any young man who wants to learn and do better,” says Lake. “The mindset is to help as many kids as we possibly can.”

A social worker with nearly 20 years of community involvement and outreach, Lake was inspired by his father Bennie Lake, one of the original Harlem Globetrotters, who himself dedicated his life to working with the youth as a social worker for more than 30 years.

“I've been working with kids my whole life and I have a deep passion for youth and kids,” says Lake. “It's also an opportunity for their voices to be heard; I probably learn more from them than they learn from me.”

My Daddy Taught Me That partners with schools, low-income housing developments, faith organizations and the juvenile court system to provide academic and emotional support to young men through tutoring, discussion groups, field trips and career training opportunities.

“We go to Carolina Panther football games and Charlotte Hornets basketball games, but we also marched across the Pettus bridge shoulder to shoulder with Jesse Jackson, Hillary Clinton and Cory Booker,” says Lake. “We have guest speakers from the US district attorney to the chief of police to a man who spent 18 years in prison for murder. We have women come to speak to our young men about how to treat women, how to be respectful, and how to practice safe sex.”

According to Lake, one of the biggest problems facing our country today is absent parents. There are nearly 16 million single parent families, the overwhelming majority of which are headed by single moms with no positive male role models or influences.

“We can’t allow these statistics to continue to grow,” says Lake. “Iron sharpens iron. We need to talk to men about stepping up and making a difference, the unwritten rules of being men: how to carry yourself, how to dress yourself, how to tie a tie. We need to create opportunities and put the youth in positions to be successful. If they can see it, they can achieve it.”

Close Up Radio will feature Keynon Lake in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on January 4th at 3pm EST

More Than Enough – GHIC Music

The COVID-19 lockdown was a time of uncertainty for me. I was also stuck with marriage preparations and it just felt like everything was happening at the same time or not happening at all.”

— Adeayo Sangowawa

BRISTOL, AVON, UNITED KINGDOM, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — More Than Enough

God’s House International Centre (GHIC) is a multicultural community church based in the centre of Bristol, UK, registered charity and parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. With over 22 nationalities, the church aims to bring Gods glory through music.

Having released four singles last year, GHIC Music has now released a new single. ‘More Than Enough’. One of the main writers, Adeayo Sangowawa shares the story behind the song:

So far this year I’ve been learning about who God is as the ‘I AM’.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I was home, on furlough. It was a time of uncertainty for me. I was also in stuck with marriage preparations and it just felt like everything was happening at the same time or not happening at all.

One day, I was listening to a sermon by Pastor EA Adeboye of RCCG and he was talking about Jehovah El Shaddai – God Almighty – more than enough – all sufficient – able to meet us at the point of our need. Nothing is too hard for Him to do. In that moment I was reassured that God was able to meet my needs materially and emotionally, whatever it was and even surpass my expectation. I was leaning on the following scriptures – Ephesians 3:20; Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:8.

The message also tied in with the GHIC theme for the year which is ‘Abundant Harvest’ so I decided to write the song around this with soome final touches and help from our producer Goziam (Instagram: goz_i_am) and GHIC Music team. I wanted it be an exciting praise song because it’s really about praising God for who He is and also thanking him for what He can do regardless of the season we’re in.

God turned a lot of things around for me and every time I feel overwhelmed, I just remember ‘He’s all sufficient and more than enough…’. I choose instead to praise!! So, when you listen to the song, I want you to be encouraged. Let this praise song be on your lips and God is more than enough to meet you too at the point of your need and there is nothing that is too hard, or too simple/little, for him to do.

The song can be found on all digital platforms. We look forward to hearing more from the team.

— Michael Sedge, Producer

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Italian-American actor, Luca Cerbone, received the Best Young Actor, Silver Award, last night from the Independent Shorts Awards, for his role in the anti-COVID short film, IT IS WHAT IT IS.

“We are extremely proud of Luca,” said producer Michael Sedge. “As a debut actor, he brought emotion and life to the character caught-up in the emotion of losing a loved one to COVID.”

The eight-minute film portrays a young couple discussing their participation in a Los Angeles party. They attended the event despite the known virus risk. It is not until the end of the film that viewers learn she has become a victim of the virus. The entire discussion, as well as their sharing a glass of wine, is only in the mind of her grieving boyfriend (Cerbone).

In addition to Cerbone’s performance award at the Independent Shorts Awards, the film was selected as a Finalist at the Vesuvius International Film Festival, Italy, and has been picked up by the Hollywood-based Bitpix TV channel.

“We are proud to be part of the fight against COVID,” said Theo Dumont, co-founder of Bitpix TV. “Young people need to understand that this is a real threat, even if the vaccine has been approved and is being administered across the nation. The short film, It Is What It Is, goes a long way in revealing the grief this virus can cause.”

Also taking Silver honors at the International Shorts Awards for Best Actor was Kevin Bacon, for his role in UNTIL.

Advocacy campaign led by Ham Radio Prep successfully reduces proposed FCC fees for amateur radio operators

The leading provider of amateur radio license education has been consistently calling on the FCC to toss out steep increases.

SHERIDAN, WYOMING, UNITED STATES, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ham Radio Prep has announced the Federal Communications Commission will begin collecting modest license fees from amateur radio operators in 2021 – a result of its protest against steep increases for operators.

Earlier in 2020, the FCC proposed charging $50 in fees for ham licenses, however, as a result of a campaign by Ham Radio Prep and others, more than 3,900 individuals and organizations filed comments in opposition to the proposed charge sought to cover processing costs.

“The commission issued a report and order on Dec. 29th that will set a fee structure for ham licenses, which currently are free,” says Ham Radio Prep’s General Manager, Chuck Gysi. “Under the FCC’s action, ham radio operators will start paying $35 for new and renewed licenses, as well as upgraded licenses and vanity call signs.”

The FCC said it was forced to take a closer look at the proposed fee because of the volume of input it received, resulting in the lower $35 charge that will take effect.

It is unclear at this time when the new fees will go into effect, however, the FCC can begin charging 30 days after the report and order is published in the federal government’s official Federal Register. When the new fees take effect, all new amateur radio applications to the FCC will be required to include a $35 accompanying fee.

The FCC’s order, which includes many other radio service fees, was announced in this document on the FCC’s website: https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-20-184A1.pdf

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein Market by Application, Source, and Form and Industry Forecast, 2020-2027

Hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) Market

Hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) Market

PORTLAND, OR, UNITED STATES, December 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) is a flavor enhancer used in processed foods. It is usually produced by acid hydrolysis of soybean, corn, or wheat, which are broken down into amino acids. HVP is also produced by enzyme hydrolysis or by alkaline treatment. It is added to food products such as soup, bouillon cubes, seasonings, spices, beef products, flavorings, veggie burgers, imitation meat products, sauces, gravy, cheese powder, and functional beverages among others. This protein is used to restore add flavor to the aforementioned food products during canning, freezing, or drying.

Though HVP is produced chemically, manufacturers consider it to be natural flavoring as it is originally derived from vegetable products. It is also considered as the most sustainable protein ingredients. Increased disposable income and change in lifestyle leading to high demand for convenience food cause increased consumption of HVP, thus driving the market growth. Thus, increase in demand for protein-rich natural ingredients and clean-labeled food products is further expected to propel the market growth. However, monosodium glutamate (MSG) in HVPs causes health issues such as headache, sweating, facial pressure or tightness, numbness, burning in the face & neck, heart palpitations, chest pain, nausea, weakness, and others. Though the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not banned the use of MSG, its negative reputation among consumers may hamper the market growth. Growth in food & beverage industry in Asia-Pacific is expected to create new opportunities for the manufacturers of HVP.
